Challenge yourself
Suicide remains the leading cause of death among young Australians. But, your moves can help change this.
Dedicate 24, 48 or 72 minutes to improving your wellbeing every day throughout October. You can challenge yourself with physical activities like walking, running or cycling, or with self-care activities like meditation. Either way you'll be doing something positive to help young people.

About the challenge
When you dedicate 24, 48 or 72 minutes everyday throughout October to move your body, improve your state (or a combination of both), you'll be making a positive move for your own wellbeing while you raise funds for ReachOut Australia. You'll feel better and you'll be making a positive move to save young lives.
About the cause
1 in 4 young Australians is currently experiencing a mental health difficulty. But there's an even bigger problem: 70% of those who need help don't get it. And suicide remains the leading cause of death of young Aussies.
After friends and family, the internet is the first place young people turn to for information and support. That's where ReachOut comes in.
ReachOut is there 24/7 for whatever life throws at them. With tools, tips, advice for everything from dealing with exam stress to understanding how to get help for an issue that's worrying them. ReachOut provides practical tools designed just for their needs, even when they don't know what they're looking for.
ReachOut helps young people get well, be well and stay well, provides connection snad shared stories through peer support, and builds confidence to seek professional help, if needed.
And, even more than that, ReachOut helps the people that young people turn to for support by providing information, peer support, and resources for schools, parents and educators.
Hear from some of our Mighty Movers
GRACE
"I undertook the 2021 Make a Move Challenge because I am a big believer and advocate for youth mental health. Make A Move reignited my love of hiking and camping, and I finally felt confident enough to cycle as my commute. The impact this had on my wellbeing was astounding."
ALICIA
"Make a Move is a great chance to do something good for yourself and for other people. I was motivated to take part because it was good motivation to increase my physical activity and get into good habits to help my own physical and mental health - while also raising funds for a really important cause."
MIMI
"As someone with a lived experience of mental illness, I know how important moving and being mindful is in my daily routine. This is also why I am so passionate about supporting youth mental health as I was a young person going through this and I know what a challenging time it can be and how vital support services such as ReachOut are in a young person’s life."
